Around 10 years ago, an agent came to our team. He had his real estate license for two years working with a certain nameless company whose agents wear gold jackets. In that time, he sold zero homes—that’s right, zero—even after all the trainings, classes, and mentorship programs he’d gone through.

A friend of mine heard a rumor that the office this agent worked for was going to let some of their agents who hadn’t sold anything in the last year go in order to keep their E&O costs low. The agent in question was on that list of agents who would be giving back their licenses.

My friend introduced the agent to me, and I quickly got him into our program. I told him that I could teach him how to sell a house and how to make money, but I couldn’t teach him how to want it.
